Thank You!
This card making Ed-venture reinforces the importance of saying thank you, and ultimately improves your child’s manners in everyday life. Writing a thank you card is a great way to get your kids understanding gratitude as best they can, and seeing how powerful the phrase ‘thank you’ can be in getting a positive response.
Not only does this Ed-venture have huge social benefits, it’s also great writing practice. If you have a son, you might know it can be a struggle to get him to write out his homework - well this Ed-venture could be that solution.
Begin by talking about how important it is to say thank you and to be thankful for what you receive. This is the most crucial part of the activity!
Then, all you need to get going is a pencil and paper. Even in the digital age, a written note is the most powerful way to convey a meaningful message.
Get your child to think about what they are thankful for. Did their Auntie get them the toy car they wanted for Christmas? Did Grandma go out of her way to cook their favourite meal on the last visit? Think about who deserves that cute thank you note and get writing!
