Penne Python
This creative Ed-Venture gives you and your child a super fun toy that you can play with again and again, teaching them to look creatively at everyday objects. The activity has multiple learning benefits for your little one, including fine control, hand-eye co-ordination and concentration. Not only is it great for learning, you also get to spend time creating a cool snake character that could be your child’s new best friend!

This fun activity requires a few household bits and bobs to get started:
Pasta (penne works best!)
String
Googly eyes or a black marker
Glue to attach the snake’s eyes
Paint and paint brushes

Step 1.
Take a piece of pasta, then thread the string through the tube and knot it securely before you hand it over to your child. This will prevent the rest of the pasta from sliding off the string and creating a mess!
Step 2.
Continue to thread the pasta onto the string until you’ve reached your perfect python length.
Step 3.
Tie the string around the final piece of pasta (the head of the snake!)
Step 4.
Glue on the googly eyes to add fun and cheeky character to the snake, or if you don’t have easy access to googly eyes, simply use a permanent marker to draw some on.
Step 5.
If you’re feeling super creative, paint your snake to bring it to life, and enjoy hours of fun!

Bonus Ed-Venture
If it’s a bit fiddly to paint once the snake is assembled, you can choose to paint your pasta pieces beforehand and leave them to dry. This way, you can teach colour sequencing as you create your python.
