Colour Sort
This colour sorting Ed-Venture is super quick and easy, and teaches your child fundamental skills for early development. It’s crucial to spend some time with your children to practise sorting things, and there’s no better time to start than at a young age! When your child gets their sorting cap on and begins to understand colour categories, they will learn how to organise, and how to distinguish the things around them.

Step 1.
Get collecting for the ultimate colour sorting selection! This ed-venture is designed for you to put your own family stamp on it. You could use bottle caps, buttons, beads, crayons, fabric scraps or anything fun around the house.
Step 2.
Chat about the items you have collected, explaining what they are and making sure your child gets to grips with the objects.

Step 3.
Begin sorting one item as an example, choosing the correct colour group. Then, encourage your child to do the same and sort the remaining objects into colour groups.
Step 4.
There’s no getting it wrong when you’re playing and having fun together, but your child will learn quickly if you move muddled items to the correct colour groups. Discuss what you’re doing together while giving lots of praise and encouragement!
Bonus Ed-Venture
Has your child mastered colour sorting? Don’t be shy, take it up a notch!
You could try adding more colour categories in addition to the standard 4, or you could add different categories altogether - for example big, small, flat - everyday objects come in all shapes and sizes.
To get your little one’s brain ticking even more, you could deliberately put an item in the wrong group and see how they respond - if they correct you, you know they’re a colour sorting pro!
