Colour & Count

Colour And Count

This maths Ed-Venture will help your child’s development. It will allow them to gain the key skills of learning and recognising numbers, while having fun at the same time. The Ed-Venture is simple - just print out your very own Colour & Count sheet designed by talented illustrator Tom Guilmard, and get colouring! Once you have finished a bit of therapeutic colouring in, cut out your number cards and let the sequencing fun commence.

You will need:

Your Colour & Count print out

Scissors

Colouring pencils

Step 1.

Cut out the number cards and show them to your little one, allowing a few minutes of free play.

Step 2.

Now, practice counting them aloud from 1-10, getting your child to grips with the sequence.

Step 3.

Ask your child to put the number cards in order from 1 -10, working from left to right. Encourage your child to touch each shape as he or she counts.

Bonus Ed-Venture for the budding mathematicians:

If your child is on a roll, try removing one of the numbers from the laid out sequence, and see if they can identify the missing number.

You could also draw dots on a piece of paper, ask your child to count them, and get them to match the total to the correct number card. This is the stuff that will really make you proud!

You and your child get to be as creative as you’d like when it comes to creating the number cards - to make maths as fun as possible! We’d love for you to share your finished number lines and colouring in sheets with us. And, if you both loved this Ed-Venture, you can check out more of Tom’s bold illustrations and characters on his Instagram.
