THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT
At no point will you be asked to register your personal details with OJO other than at the purchase point in the online store.
Other than during the payment process within the OJO online store, we never insist on you giving us your email address. If you offer us your email address to receive newsletters we will store and use this information:
- To send you newsletters;
- To occasionally send promotional emails about products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting, and you can opt out of at any time;
- Internal record keeping;
- To respond to your emails, submissions, questions, comments, requests, and complaints and provide customer service;
- To provide our services or information you request, and to process and complete any transactions;
- To send you confirmations, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages and otherwise facilitate your use of, and our administration and operation of, our services.
NAME AND POSTAL ADDRESS
We never ask for your name or postal address other than at the purchase point in the online store. The purpose of this is to send you the products you have ordered and to provide our services or information you request, and to process and complete any transactions.
We will not provide your details to third parties other than in relation to processing your order. An exception to this rule is that of competitions and prizes. Should you be lucky enough to win something from a third party through a competition on our website or across our social media platforms then we will inform them of your address for prizes to be sent out to.
Please note that to complete your order we will process your data in conjunction with the following 3rd parties: Sage Pay, Stripe, PayPal, MailChimp, Facebook, Woocommerce and Xero. These service providers are working with us in connection with the operation of our site or our services and they have access to your personal information only to perform services on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose it or use it for any other purposes.
LAWFUL BASIS FOR PROCESSING DATA
We will only ever contact you if you have offered us your email address. As long as you have taken active steps to engage with our business then we continue to process your data for legitimate interests. This means that only individuals who have actively consented, or are engaged with our process will receive OjO updates. You will not be targeted with marketing Emails if you have not signed up to our newsletter. You may be contacted occasionally for transactional purposes only.
In addition we may process your information in the following ways and circumstances:
- We may share aggregated information and non-identifiable information with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other similar purposes;
- When you give us your consent to do so, including if we notify you that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information;
- When we believe in good faith that we are lawfully authorized or required to do so or that doing so is reasonably necessary or appropriate to comply with the law or legal processes or respond to lawful requests or legal authorities, including responding to lawful subpoenas, warrants or court orders;
- We will not sell or lease your personal information to any other third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
YOUR DATA RIGHTS AS OUR CUSTOMERS
As our customers you have the following data rights with respect to your personal data: The right to be informed; the right of access; the right to rectification; the right to erasure; the right to restrict processing; the right to data portability; the right to object; and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making including profiling. RETENTION AND DELETION OF DATA
Our Data retention periods are as follows: your data will be deleted from our system after if:
You are not subscribed to our mailing list, within one year of your final payment;
You have signed up to our newsletter and do not interact further with us, 3 years after your final payment
You have not made a purchase from us in 5 years or you are not subscribed to any of our services and do not open any Emails sent by us for 2 years
The purpose of us having your data on our system is to ensure that we are keeping you up to date with the information you have requested and a product you are interested in. These data retention periods exist to ensure we are only sending information to people who want to hear from us. This is in line with the ICO’s guidelines that ‘Personal data processed for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose or those purposes.’ You will be informed of our intention to delete you from the database 1 month prior to deletion with the option to re-sign in.
YOUR SECURITY AND PROTECTION
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place various security procedures in relation to the personal data process including the use of fire walls, limited access, use of passwords and our own internal procedures which cover the storage, access and disclosure of your information.
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information in an effort to prevent loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Please be aware, however, that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

We will only ever contact you if you have offered us your email address. If you have signed up for our newsletter, you will receive that. If you have not but are a subscriber, we will only ever contact you for essential transactional services.

If you purchase anything from us we use secure third party services to collect your payment, protect your credit card information and assist your shopping experience.
